Children’s Ministry Purpose Statement

DSCN8076-220x220

The Children’s Ministry at FPC Monterey nurtures children’s spiritual development through ongoing programs and special activities that:

  • Increase children’s biblical literacy
  • Foster development of a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ for each child
  • Promote a positive awareness and sense of belonging to the community of Christian believers. If you want your young ones to enjoy learning about the Bible, bring them to our Lighthouse Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. Children in Preschool – 5th grade enjoy lessons based on the scriptures used in worship. Parents and children are invited to share at home what they have learned each week.

Mothers of Babies

Mothersofbabies-610

Mothers of Babies meets at 9:00am in the Nursery (Room 5).

Nursery

Babies and young children 0-4 years old are cherished in our Nursery during the 9:00am and 11:00am Sunday worship services as well as the 10:00am Education Hour. Childcare is available for children of all ages for most church events and gatherings. Let us know your needs!

Children in Worship

Children are always welcome in worship. We are grateful for and understanding of the noise and activity that accompanies children, and believe that it is a sign of life in our congregation! There are Worship activity bags available – just ask an usher.

Special Projects

The children of the Lighthouse enjoy serving others: bringing canned goods for those who don’t have enough to eat, making cards for homebound members, raising money for a school in Pakistan, or making cookies for people in our church family.
